Heitinga All Set For Atletico Move

Ajax defender John Heitinga is very close to joining
Atletico Madrid after passing a medical in the Spanish
capital...
The Dutchman agreed personal terms
with the Spanish side last month, after the two clubs
concurred on a €10 million fee.
Heitinga, who will join on a five-year
contract, underwent a routine medical Sunday morning
for the club to check on his current condition.
The 24-year-old is a product of
the Ajax youth academy and spent a total of 17 seasons
with the Amsterdam-based club, having had his debut
in 2001 against Feyenoord.
Heitinga, who can play as a central
defender, right-back, and defensive midfielder, has
33 international caps to his name and made 210 appearances
for Ajax, netting 21 goals.
He is Atletico Madrid's first signing
of the new campaign, along with Czech defender Tomáš
Ujfaluši, who arrives from Fiorentina.
