The Robben hit parade
Sunday 8 June 2008
Arjen Robben got injured yesterday
and is out for the opener against Italy and probably
also for the game against France on Friday.
Marco van Basten passed the opportunity
to call up a replacement for the Real Madrid-player,
so he at least thinks there is a chance Robben will
recover for the match against Romania and matches after
that.
Robben is widely regarded as one
of the most talented wingers in the world but his continuous
injuries have so far kept him from really securing the
Hall of Fame of football greats.
The new injury comes as a bit of
a surprise after Robben said
a few days ago that he hoped he had put his injury
misery behind him.
However looking back at the last
four years it can hardly be called a surprise that the
mercury winger is out again.
We had a look at Robben's record
and found an 'impressive' list of physical troubles.

It has been since Robben's first
season at PSV Eindhoven (2002/03) that former FC Groningen-player
has played a season without injuries.
Because of his many injuries Robben
played only 111 games for his clubs over the past 5
seasons:
