Martin Jols reported move
to Hamburg appears to have taken a step closer after
Zeljko Petrovic claimed he is set to sign a deal alongside
the former Spurs manager as part of the new coaching
set up at the Bundesliga side.
Petrovic is currently in charge of Dutch side RKC Waalwijk
and says he has turned down the opportunity to take
over Belgian side AA Gent to join Jol as the Dutchmans
assistant at the Nordbank Arena.
Martin and I know each other very well,
said Petrovic. He is one of the few trainers I
would like to work with as assistant coach.
I am 42 years old now. By the time our HSV contract
ends I will be 44. By then I will have plenty of time
to build a career as head coach.
I can learn a lot at HSV. I see this as a promotion,
it is fantastic.
