Joris Mathijsen extends contract with
HSV Hamburg
Friday 14 November 2008
Defender Joris Mathijsen has extended
his contract with his Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg to
June 2012.
The Dutch international was transferred
from AZ to Hamburg two years ago and has since played
75 games for the German giants.
"I am very proud that I am
allowed to play here. HSV are a great club," Mathijsen
said.
He didn't say whether he plans
to change clubs after his contract expires.
"Whether I will retire then?
I hope not. I'll be 32 then and hopefully I can keep
on playing a bit longer."
HSV travel to Berlin this weekend
to face Hertha BSC.
Other than in the last three away
matches that Hamburg all lost 3-0 coach Martin Jol can
dispose of all his players on Saturday.
