McClaren: "This hurts. We are very
disappointed"
Thursday 28 August 2008
Steve McClaren's return to England
can not be called a success.
His new team FC Twente didn't stand
the flimsiest of chances against Arsenal: 4-0.
"When I arrived here on Tuesday
the people told me we encountered Arsenal at the right
moment, as they had lost last weekend in the Premier
League. They were speaking of a crisis. In the end it
turns out that we couldn't have met with them at a worse
moment. They were all sharp as knives," Twente's
English coach said.
McClaren wasn't happy with his
team's performance: "This hurts. We are very disappointed.
This not how Twente are supposed to play. In the first
game we played with confidence and we could match them.
Now it wasn't like that. We should try and take the
disappointment and anger we feel now into our next game
on Saturday."
