Eredivisie roundup: Feyenoord still in
trouble
Sunday 05 October 2008
Feyenoord - NEC 0-2
The misery for Feyenoord seemed to have taken a turn
on Thursday when they knocked Kalmar FF out of the UEFA
Cup, but as it turns out that good match was only a
little spark, not the start of a fire.
Today they lost to NEC Nijmegen
coach by former Feyenoord hero Mario Been.
In the first half the Rotterdammers
seemed able to continue down the path they entered Thursday,
two second half goals of the visitors now see 100-year-old
club on 14th spot with 4 points from 5 games.
With an international weekend coming
up new coach Gertjan Verbeek will have two weeks to
get his players ready for the next game, away to Willem
II Tilburg.
0-1 49' Janssen
0-2 55' Ntibazonkiza
AZ Alkmaar - Sparta Rotterdam
6-0
AZ are on a cloud and as they did last
week knocked their opponents down within half an
hour. After the poor displays in the first two games,
AZ now seem to be back on track with three wins in a
row and impressive figures: 12 goals scored and 2 conceded.
"We played well," AZ
coach Louis van Gaal said.
"But now we finish the chances
we create. That is the difference with the first two
matches."

2-0 21' Dembélé
3-0 26' Swerts
4-0 28' Dembélé
5-0 58' El Hamdaoui

FC Groningen - ADO Den Haag
3-0
FC Groningen remain leaders in the Eredivisie by a 3-0
victory over ADO Den Haag.
Groningen had a good start and
went ahead after 11 minutes when Petter Andersson netted
a Koen van de Laak cross.
What followed was a siege of the
Den Haag penalty area and it seemed only a matter of
time before FC Groningen would double the score.
They did in the 25th minute.
Sepp De Roover put a ball in the
box where Evgeniy Levchenko headed it home
FC Groningen then remained the
far better team, and only point of criticism was that
they didn't score more goals.
Markus Berg added one in the 70th
one, but the 3-0 end result was not a true expression
of the difference in quality.
1-0 11' Petter Andersson
2-0 25' Levchenko
3-0 70' Marcus Berg
PSV - De Graafschap 3-0
PSV recovered well from the defeat in Liverpool this
week by easily sweeping aside De Graafschap.
De Graafschap offered little or
no resistance so even though PSV didn't play brilliantly
they created lots of chances from which they scored
three.
Comeback kids Danko Lazovic (2)
and Ibrahim Afellay scored the goals that put PSV on
second spot in the table.
