"AC Milan is a dream come true"
Tuesday 07 October 2008
Heerenveen forward Roy Beerens
was a happy man after Tuesday's draw for the 2nd round
of the UEFA Cup.
"A fantastic draw,"Beerens
said.
"I am most delighted that
AC Milan are in our group. These are games that everyone
dreams of."
Heerenveen skipper Michel Breuer
was just as happy as Beerens.
"When there must be a big
team in your group it might as well be AC Milan. That
is the club with the richest history and the best players.
If it's Ronaldhino, Kaka or Pato they can all kick a
ball.
Heerenveen will play their other
home game against SC Braga and will play away to VfL
Wolfsburg and Portsmouth.
"But I think we have a decent
chance of surviving this group, Breuer said.
Heerenveen coach Trond Sollied
has actually already once beaten AC Milan.
In October 2003 the Norwegian was
manager of Club Brugge and led his team to a 0-1 victory
in San Siro.
Before the draw he said he wouldn't
mind another encounter with seven times European champions.
