Little late movement on Dutch transfer
market
Tuesday 02 September 2008
The closure of the transfer window
in the Netherlands yesterday at midnight didn't bring
about much spectacular late moves, as some fans might
have hoped.
Most Dutch top teams saw redundant
players move elsewhere at the very last minute - most
on loan - and only Feyenoord signed one player: goal
keeper Rob van Dijk (39) joined the team from Rotterdam
to become second man behind Henk Timmer.
Champions PSV sent defender Jelle
de Bock on a loan deal to Jupiler League side Helmond
Sport and Feyenoord got rid of midfielder Nicky Hoffs
(Vitesse) while the contract of Tunisian defender Karim
Saïdi was revoked by mutual agreement.
Ajax - who had already been very
active on the transfer market earlier this summer let
striker Luque go to Malaga on a loan deal and more importantly
they were in the end able to hold on to much wanted
center forward Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar.
They also stalled Donovan Slijngard
on a loan deal at Sparta Rotterdam.
Other big news came from Nijmegen,
where NEC were able to get their hands on Collins John.
The former Twente striker was on
a derelict siding at his club Fulham and will now play
for the team of Mario Been on loan for at least one
season.
FC Utrecht:
Peter Kopteff, sold to Aalesund FK (No).
Lucian Sanmartean, contract revoked
Simon Cziommer, on loan from AZ
FC Groningen:
Petter Andersson, from Hammarby IF
