Eredivisie schedule 2008/09 finally revealed

The Dutch Eredivisie season will start on 29 August
with an encounter between
Vitesse Arnhem
and
FC Groningen
.
That and the rest of the schedule was revealed today
when the Dutch FA published it's fixtures for the coming
season.
The publication had suffered some delay after city
mayors had opposed some of the fixtures as they coincided
with other big events in their cities.
Champions
PSV Eindhoven
start their campaign away to
FC Utrecht
,
Ajax
Amsterdam
will travel to
Willem
II Tilburg
and
Feyenoord Rotterdam
will face
Heracles Almelo
in Almelo.
Steve McClaren's FC Twente will kickoff with a match
at
RODA JC Kerkrade
.
Prior to the start of the league Feyenoord and PSV
will play for the Johan Cruyff Schaal (Dutch Supercup)
on August 23.
