Stevens: "We missed too many chances"
Wednesday 05 November 2008
PSV lost 3-0
away to Olympique Marseilles in the Champions League
on Tuesday, but despite the loss coach Huub Stevens
is most disappointed with his forwards.
"We missed too many chances
and failed to reward ourselves."
Danny Koevermans and Otman Bakkal
had some great chances in the first half but failed
to finish them.
"They did score with ease.
Then it's hard to win. It will be tough to finish third
now," Stevens said.
Eric Addo was partly responsible
for the first two French goals and was taken off straight
after the second.
"But that was mainly because
he had already received a yellow card. Our defeat wasn't
all due to bad defending because a team like Olympique
will always create chances. We too, but we did not score
that's the difference."
"This score forces us to get
a result against Liverpool or Atletico or else this
European adventure is over."
