Gabri expects a tough year at Ajax

Ajax-midfielder Gabri foresees
a difficult year for himself in Amsterdam.
The most experienced player in
the squad said so after Wednesday's game
against Heracles.
Gabri based the expectation on
what he has seen from Eyong Enoh, one of the competitors
for his position.
And then there are the tactical
choices of his coach Marco van Basten, that don't always
favor him.
Against Heracles Van Basten let
Gabri start on the bench, because he wanted to play
with a coming midfielder next to a holding midfielder
(Lindgren) and a passer (Vertonghen).
Three days earlier it was for that
reason that he was substituted after 41 minutes against
NEC.
"The coach thought another
player would do better on my position. I have told him
that it was hard to accept, especially given the timing
of the replacement. It was the first time I have ever
been taken off before half-time," Gabri said.
