Vertonghen: "Ajax still top favorites"

Ajax lost 2-0
to AZ Alkmaar yesterday, but the defeat did not erode
the self-confidence of Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.
"Ajax remain the top favorites
for the league title," the Belgian said.
"Why? Because we have the
best team in the Eredivisie and we have won games this
season that we didn't win in previous seasons. Even
though did take three points from Alkmaar last season,
that's true."
Vertonghen talks the way he plays:
masculine.
"I think AZ-Ajax was more
of a top game than Ajax-PSV was. The big difference
with last week was that AZ also wanted to play forward
and that increased the level of the game."
He does think that AZ will be their
main competitors for the league.
"They have a great midfield
and fantastic ability."
Still he says no one should write
off PSV.
"They have different qualities
all together."
