Spanish media: "Huntelaar agrees
terms with Madrid"
Tuesday 02 December 2008
Several Spanish news media are
reporting that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar ha agreed terms with
Real Madrid and that the Ajax center forward will play
for the Spanish giants from the 1st of January 2009.
It is also said that Madrid have
offered 20 million euro and that Ajax are seeking 3
million more.
Ajax have denied the rumors and
say the publications in the Spanish media are an attempt
by Madrid to put the pressure on Ajax.
"We are not negotiating with
Real Madrid," Ajax chairman Uri Coronel said.
Madrid are looking for a new center
forward now that Ruud van Nistelrooy is out
for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Huntelaar is an interesting candidate
for Madrid as he would be allowed to play in the Champions
League this season.
Huntelaar would be the sixth Dutchman
in the Madrid squad, where he would join Van Nistelrooy,
Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben, Royston Drenthe and Rafael
van der Vaart.
Manchester City tried to land Huntelaar
this summer, but Ajax turned down an offer of 40 million
for the striker.
