Ajax has no problems with NAC Breda
Saturday 13 December 2008
What was supposed to be a top game
between the number 2 and 4 in the Eredivisie turned
out be a one sided affair which Ajax won easily: 3-0.
Ajax nestle themselves next to
AZ, who face Feyenoord in Rotterdam, whereas NAC suffered
their third big defeat in a row after losses to Sparta
(4-0) and ADO Den Haag (0-4).
The game saw the first goal for
Dario Cvitanich, the Argentinean Croat who is destined
to succeed Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in Amsterdam.
After Ajax had been messing about
for about half an hour Cvitanich got the ball from Luis
Suarez, rounded two defenders and finished it clinically
with a low diagonal drive.
Youngster Siem de Jong than helped
his team to a penalty when he tricked himself through
the NAC defense inside the penalty area and was fouled
by Kees Kwakman.
The defender received his second
yellow card of the game while Suarez converted the spot
kick: 2-0.
With 2-0 on the score board and
one man up Ajax had little to fear after that.
Rasmus Lindgren added a third with
a great long shot but then seemed to think that three
consecutive 4-0 defeats would perhaps be too much for
NAC.
