AZ are impressed with James Holland
Monday 05 January 2009
Trialist James
Holland has made a good impression at AZ Alkmaar.
The Australian midfielder of the
Newcastle Jets trained with the Dutch league leaders
in December.
"We might want to sign him,"
said the club's General Director Marcel Brands.
AZ are said to pay a transfer fee
of around 300.000 euro for Holland (19).
Holland's short career has been
an impressive one so far, being the youngest player
to score in the A-League and also being the captain
of the Young Socceroos.
He has been named to the Socceroos
- the Australian national team - three times.
If Holland joins AZ he will be
the second Australian in Louis van Gaal's squad, with
Brett Holman already being there.
