Feyenoord have no problems with ADO Den
Haag
Sunday 23 November 2008
Feyenoord Rotterdam had no trouble
whatsoever with ADO Den Haag on Sunday.
After the visitors went ahead in
the tenth minute the Rotterdammers turned things around
before the break with a 2-1 lead and added a third in
the second half: 3-1.
Roy Makaay proved to be a winter-proof
striker as he took Feyenoord by the end in a cold and
windy De Kuip.
The 33-year old scored Feyenoord's
first goal and prepared the other two.
This happened after Richard Knopper
scored in the tenth minute when Feyenoord keeper Henk
Timmer made yet another mistake as he let a ball bounce
off his chest straight into Knopper's feet.
Makaay then equalized six minutes
later and laid one on for Leroy Fer to make it 2-1 minutes
before the half-time whistle.
Luigi Bruins added a third for
the home team ten minutes into the second half after
which the weather conditions made it almost impossible
to play a decent game of football.
The victory for Feyenoord means
they have now gained ten points from their last four
games and that they are getting a UEFA Cup spot in their
sites.
For Den Haag the defeat was the
sixth in a row and after a good start the team of coach
André Wetzel are slowly sinking into the relegation
zone.
