Feyenoord escape new disgrace
Saturday 24 January 2009
Watched by the new mayor of Rotterdam
mister Ahmed Aboutaleb Feyenoord scored a goal in the
third minute of added time to squeeze out a draw against
Willem II Tilburg.
The support of the city's first
citizen didn't seem to help Feyenoord much.
Despite being the better team for
most of the game and creating at least two handfuls
of chances Feyenoord seemed to be heading for their
fourth home defeat of the season after Jens Janse put
Willem II ahead in the 50th minute.
After the opening goal the hosts
stepped up their offensive but had to wait until the
last few seconds of the game before Andwele Slory tapped
in a Biseswar cross.
Feyenoord had been unfortunate
in the first half when defender Andre Bahia scored via
the underside of the cross bar but the linesman failed
to notice that the ball had crossed the goal line before
it bounced back onto the pitch.
