PSV shrug off frustrations with 4-0 win
Sunday 23 November 2008
PSV have shrugged off a lot of
the frustration built op over the past few weeks as
they beat Heracles 4-0 in Eindhoven.
It was their first win after four
defeats in a row.
Perhaps Huub Stevens had listened
to the wishes of his players as he fielded two center
forwards .
Dank Lazovic - in trouble this
week after his outburst - played next Danny Koevermans
up front.
Heracles balled along nicely with
PSV but the reigning champions proved to be a lot more
effective in front of goal and punished the visitors
for the many mistakes they made.
The first PSV goal almost seemed
to be an early Christmas gift from Heracles.
Central defender Rodriguez was
allowed to march through half the pitch and score with
a shot from the edge of the box.
The goal sort of revived Heracles
and the team from Almelo came close to the equalizer
twice.
But when Ibrahim Afellay made it
2-0 on the half hour Heracles' resistance washed away.
Lazovic made it 3-0 shortly after
and Balàsz Dzudzsak bagged a fourth before half-time.
Wary perhaps of shooting all their
bolt PSV left it at that.
Stevens' team created some ecent
chances in the second half but added nbo more goals
to the four they had scored in the first half.
