PSV drop valuable points in Arnhem
Sunday 14 December 2008
PSV and away games have an awkward
relationship this season and today in Arnhem the team
of Huub Stevens again got no further than a disappointing
1-1 at Vitesse.
The away balance is getting slightly
depressing for Philipsdorp Sport Vereniging.
There were two victories at FC
Utrecht and ADO Den Haag and four defeats, while today's
draw was the second in a row after a 2-2 in Heerenveen
two weeks ago.
PSV did take the lead two minutes
from half-time when Nordin Amrabat finished a Danko
Lazovic pass.
PSV were the better side in the
first half, without creating that much more than the
hosts.
Lazovic and Balasz Dzsudzsak had
some decent chances but on the other side Paul Verhaegh
and Nicky Hofs went close.
After the break Vitesse started
taking more risks with coach Westerhof putting on Niklas
Tarvajärvi as an enforcer up front.
It paid off as it was the Fin who
equalized in the 65th minute.
Nothing much interesting happened
afterwards.
