Club icon Theo Bos new coach Vitesse

Theo Bos succeeds fired Hans Westerhof
as coach of Vitesse Arnhem.
Bos who was coach of Jupiler League
side FC Den Bosch up until now will take up his new
job immediately.
The 43-year-old has signed a contract
that binds him to the club for 1½ year.
"It has always been my desire
to return to Vitesse as a coach," Bos said.
Director of Football Marc van Hintum:
"Theo Bos is an ambitious coach with an extensive
past here at Vitesse".
"Now that wasn't the most
important reason but it did play a part. Most importantly
we think Theo is capable of building a team. He has
proven that with our youngsters and at FC Den Bosch
in recent years."
Bos played for Vitesse from 1983
until 1998.
He has been coach of Den Bosch
since 2005 and reached a 7th, a 5th and a 3rd place
with his team.
Bos is one of eight coaches in
the Eredivisie who have a past as a player at the club
where they work.
The other ones are: Huub Stevens
(PSV), Ton du Chatinier (FC Utrecht), Marco van Basten
(Ajax), Ron Jans (FC Groningen), André Wetzel
(FC Den Haag), Louis van Gaal (AZ Alkmaar) and Henk
van Stee (De Graafschap).
Bos reached by far the most games
for his club: 369.
With that total he leads Stevens
(293) and Du Chatinier (235).
