First victory for Volendam

Two late goals, scored in the last
seven minutes, have given red light barer Volendam their
first victory (3-1) of the season at home against De
Graafschap on Sunday.
Five days after their first point
(2-2 against WillemII
Tilburg) the team of Frans Adelaar took the full reward
this time.
That goal scorer Melvin Platje
used his hands to control the ball when he scored Volendam's
first goal couldn't spoil the party for the home team.
De Graafschap's equalizer close
before half-time of course did, but after the break
Volendam went looking for more goals immediately and
the visitors had painfully little to put against it.
Then Volendam coach Adelaar decided
the game with two replacements.
Substitute Furdjel Narsingh initiated
Volendam's second goal when he saw his effort stopped
by De Graafschap keeper Heijblok after which Jack Tuyp
finished off the rebound.
The second replacement Dominique
van Dijk then put an end to all doubt by making it 3-1
minutes before the final whistle.
