Volendam gain their first point

FC Volendam gained their first point on Tuesday and that was celebrated like a league title behind The Dike.

Great relief of course for the fans who had had to wait until the eight game of the season for it.

At home against Willem II Tilburg the result was 2-2.

So no eight defeat in a row and now equaling of a negative record.

More than 40 years ago Volendam (1963/64) and MVV (1968/69) only gained their first points in the ninth game of the season.

Coach Frans Adelaar hopes his team can manage the first victory on Sunday when De Graafschap will come to Volendam.
