Van Marwijk: "Everyone will play"
Wednesday 11 August 2010
Dutch Bondscoach Bert van
Marwijk will let all 17 players play in tonight's friendly
in and against Ukraine. Van Marwijk said so after last
night's training in the Donbass Arena in Donetsk.
"The amount of players I named
for this game indicates that there is a good chance
that they will all get some playing time," Van
Marwijk said.
No less than seven players could
make their debut for Oranje in tonight's game. "The
lads are a bit nervous, but that's only natural and
perhaps even necessary. There was too little time to
prepare well for this game."
Van Marwijks is curious to see
how Jeffrey Bruma of Chelsea holds out. "I love
to see him play at this level." Left-backs Vurnon
Anita and Erik Pieters can also expect extra attention:
"Now that Giovanni van Bronckhorst has retired
we have a vacancy on his position. I am very interested
to see how Vurnon and Erik will do."
The squad:
Michel Vorm (FC Utrecht), Piet Velthuizen (Vitesse),
Vurnon Anita (Ajax), Glenn Loovens (Celtic), Jeffrey
Bruma (Chelsea), Erik Pieters (PSV), Ron Vlaar (Feyenoord),
Dirk Marcellis (AZ), Leroy Fer (Feyenoord), Wout Brama
(FC Twente), Urby Emanuelson (Ajax), Hedwiges Maduro
(Valencia), Theo Janssen (FC Twente), Siem de Jong (Ajax),
Roy Beerens (sc Heerenveen), Jeremain Lens (PSV), Ricky
van Wolfswinkel (FC Utrecht).
