may be 39 years of age, but in the national team of
Finland everything still revolves around Jari Litmanen.
At the end of his career he is the pivot of the Scandinavian
team, and it is very likely that he will be in the starting
lineup when Finland play Holland in Rotterdam on Tuesday.
"Everything in the Finish
team revolves around Litmanen. As long as he is on the
pitch Finland play twice as good. Then they claim the
ball, take the initiative and play really well. He is
always available,he sees the through ball, he determines
the pace of the game and is the ideal switch between
midfield and offense. Looking at those qualities he
is still a world class player. His only deficit is that
he is 39 years old, which means he only lasts for 45
minutes, or perhaps an hour when the pace of the game
isn't too high."
