Wisgerhof replaces Maduro

Peter Wisgerhof of FC Twente is
the big surprise in the Dutch squad for the upcoming
Euro 2012 qualifiers against Moldavia and Sweden. Hedwiges
Maduro (injured) and Wilfred Bouma were dropped by Bert
van Marwijk.
After Hedwiges Maduro (Valencia)
got injured Van Marwijk has added FC Twente-defender
Peter Wisgerhof to his squad. Wisgerhof (30) played
13 games for the U-21 team and scored 1 goal in those
games. Robin van Persie, Ron Vlaar and Arjen Robben
are still out with injuries. FC Utrecht-goalkeeper Michel
Vorm returns from injury. Stijn Schaars, who wasn't
named last month, is back on the squad.
Holland resume their qualifying
campaign for Euro 2012 on Friday with a game against
Moldavia on Friday in Chisinau. Kickoff at 20h30 CET.
Four days later, on Tuesday 12 October Sweden are the
opponents in the Amsterdam Arena. Kickoff again at 20h30
CET.
