Bouma back on the radar
24 September 2010
Bondscoach Bert van Marwijk
has named 24 players to his preliminary squad for the
European qualifiers against Moldavia and Sweden. After
Holland won their first two group games against San
Marino and Finland, the runners up of the last World
Cup will resume their campaign on 8 October (20h30 cet)
in the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau.
Four days after that difficult
away game Van Marwijk's men face the first real test
when they take on Sweden in the Amsterdam Arena (20h30
cet).
After his return to the Eredivisie
from Aston Villa defender Wilfred Bouma has been put
on the list of 24 players. Bouma played his last game
for Holland on 17 June 2008, during Euro 2008, against
Romania. He got severely injured in a Champions League
qualifier with his club Aston Villa and didn't play
a single game in the two seasons that followed. Van
Marwijk decided to pick Bouma for his good performances
for PSV Eindhoven this season.

also part of the squad again after his comeback three
weeks ago.
