Marc Overmars makes surprise return

Marc Overmars is to make a return
to professional football.
The former Ajax and Arsenal-star
will wear the shirt of Dutch Jupiler League outfit Go
Ahead Eagles from Deventer, the club where he started
his career 18 years ago.
Overmars' return to the pitch is
a big surprise.
The now 35-year-old quit his professional
career after Euro 2004 because of knee injury, but with
that out of the way he seems ready for a new adventure
in Holland's second division.
The fast winger impressed everybody
at Jaap Stam's
testimonial recently, regularly playing the Ajax-defenders
on a heap.
