SC Heerenveen - NEC Nijmegen

SC Heerenveen have qualified for
the semifinal of the KNVB Cup on Wednesday. The Friesians
beat NEC Nijmegen 3-1 after a half-time score of 1-1.
Swedish strikers Patrik Ingelsten and Viktor Elm decided
the game for the home team.
The 1-1 score at half-time was
a just illustration of the game in the first half.
The home team had the best start
to the game and had their first serious chance after
only two minutes, with Paulo Henrique being denied by
NEC keeper Gabor Babos.
A few minutes later Henrique tested
Babos again with a venomous shot from distance and before
the clock indicated ten minutes Babos had to act again
on a curved shot of Pranjic.
NEC answered with two good efforts
by Dennis Rommedahl and a shot by Bas Sibum that went
only inches over the cross bar.
The visitors then opened the score
8 minutes before half-time by Lasse Schöne, but
within 60 seconds the hosts equalized through Henrique.
After the break NEC were the first
ones to create some danger, but in the end the Friesians
proved more accurate, scoring two and securing their
place in the semis.
