Van Persie hails team effort
Thursday 20 November 2008
Robin van Persie was the big man
in yesterday's friendly against Sweden with two goals,
but afterwards he hailed the win as a great team effort.
"I think we did well here
as a team. It's tough playing against the Swedes; We
found the right solution," Van Persie said.
The Arsenal striker had noticed
how Oranje were very focussed ahead of the game: "We
handled this game very seriously and that's what gave
us this good result."
In other words: friendlies also
count for this Dutch national team.
According to Van Persie the team
deserves a compliment for that.
"Sweden played with two lines
of four very close together. Still we managed to create
some good things."
