Mario Been: "Surviving this group
is mega achievement"

NEC Nijmegen reached the third
round of the UEFA Cup tonight by beating
Udinese at home 2-0.
"It didn't look good in the
first half," coach Mario Been said on Dutch television.
Been saw his team perform well
but the score in London between Tottenham and Spartak
Moscow forced him to chance his tactics.
"It was death or glory,"
Been said.
"We chanced to three defenders.
Often against Italian teams that is suicide. But I don't
think we gave anything after that."
Tottenham's equalizer fell at the
same moment NEC opened the score in Nijmegen.
"How can it be any better
than that?" said Been who saw Jhon van Beukering
put 2-0 on the score board little after.
"I had vowed not eat anymore
English Bassett's Allsorts if the English were to give
the game away. SO I can keep on doing that," Been
said.
The coach had only compliments
for his side: "Surviving this
group is mega achievement".
