| Sneijder celebrating his goal |
Even though Wesley
Sneijder didn't play his best game for Holland, yet
the little man of Inter Milan played a decisive role
as he scored the only goal of the game.
Sneijder agreed Holland
played an unremarkable game: "But we knew before
the game that it would be hard to play against Japan.
They run a lot, move a lot, have a very dynamic style.
That makes it difficult to play football as we like
it. The first half we let the ball move well, and then
in the second half we were able finished it, "
Sneijder said.
Sneijder didn't really
give an explanation for the difficulties Holland are
having in finding to their passing game, but he again
mentioned the ball plays a role: "When you pass
or shoot it swerves. When I scored that worked to my
advantage. But still, I didn't think it was a bad game,
it was hard to play though. We haven't played our best
football yet, but the six points are in the pocket."
"When I compare
us to the other favorites, we did well. Except for Argentina
we are the only country that has won twice so far. This
World Cup is never easy, there are a lot of high-quality
players. But again, we have Six points now, we're going
to enjoy this for a moment."
