Robben looks ahead
Monday, 28 June 2010
Although he knows that Holland
will still have to try and beat Slovakia today, Arjen
Robben has looked ahead in the schedule of the World
Cup. And the Dutch forward has seen that the quarterfinals
might be the biggest hurdle on the way to the final.
When Holland manage to eliminate
the eastern Europeans there is a good chance that Brazil
will be the opponents in the final. Beating Brazil as
well would mean a semifinal against either Ghana or
Uruguay.
"When you have a realistic
look at the path we have to follow to get to the final
it looks as though the quarterfinals are the highest
hurdle," Robben says.
"Of course we should be focussing
on Slovakia, but every now and then you look at the
schedule. That seems perfectly natural to me. I don't
know yet whether I will start. I shall have to be 100%
fit. Making that decision is a difficult process, and
then again it's not. There's a lot at stake. I can't
fail the team."
