Frank de Boer: "Jabulani is horror"

After
Sven Goran Eriksson and Diego Maradonna, Frank de Boer
was also critical of the new World Cup ball Jabulani.
At high altitude it is "pure horror", De Boer
said. "A long pass that bounces in front of you
will shoot off in all directions. It's terrible. It
really doesn't serve the game well. I feel FIFA should
pay attention to the criticism."
De Boer thinks that especially
at high altitude the ball behaves terribly. "If
not for the fact that we have been training with it
for a while, it would be a real problem. I keep telling
our players to keep the ball on the ground. It's impossible
to play a long ball through the air."
Luckily Holland will not play their
next game(s) at high altitude. The game on Monday against
Slovakia in Durban is at sealevel, a possible quarter
final and semifinal will be played in Port Elizabeth
and in Capetown. Both are at sealevel. Only if Holland
were to reach the final they will go back to an altitude
of 1,700 meters in Soccer City in Johannesburg.
