Van Persie: "It's eating me"

| Vladimir Weiss is an interested
onlooker as Robin van Persie expresses his unhappiness
about his substitution |
"I'm not scoring
and it's eating me," a sulky Robin van Persie said
after Holland's winning match against Slovakia. A game
in which he was taken off again: "I believe every
center forward will be affected by that."
Fortunately Van Persie
saw how Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder did score -
goals that brought Holland to the quarterfinals. "I
had a few chances, but I didn't score. When you look
at the football only I didn't play bad. But I'd rather
seen we'd have swept them off the park. That didn't
happen and I'm unhappy about that."
The Arsenal striker
was clear about the fact that he always feels bad when
he misses a chance. "I'm not happy about myself
then. But it doesn't effect the rest of my performance.
That I have learned to do. You can miss every chance,
but as a center forward there is always a new chance."
Yet there were no
new chances for Van Persie after he got taken off in
the 80th minute, something Van Persie wasn't happy about.
"Looking at the way the game developed, you know
there will be more room towards the end of the game.
I wanted to you use that space. Sadly it didn't happen."
