Van Marwijk: "We should be proud"

"When you win
four games in a row and reach the quarterfinals you
can be very happy," Bert van Marwijk after Holland
beat Slovakia (2-1).
"We started well
and should have been up 2-0 or 3-0 early on in the second
half. Then we had the moments where Stekelenburg saved
us. After that we should have scored more."
Van Marwijk was slightly
annoyed by the criticism of his team's performance:
"Typically Dutch," Van Marwijk said. "We've
qualified for the last 8 and still it's not good enough.
Apparently that doesn't count. In fact we should be
proud, but no, we have to bring ourselves down."
"Name one team
that makes your mouth water. Argentina? They play reaction
football. Believe me, criticism is allowed, but sometimes
you can be happy for a while."
One man who wasn't
happy after the game was Robin van Persie, something
he clearly expressed when was walking off. Van Marwijk:
"Robin was indeed a bit disappointed, but he's
allowed to be."
