Clarence Seedorf feels his track record
should earn him a place in the team
Monday 17 May 2010
Despite
years of absence Clarence Seedorf has not yet stopped
thinking about the World Cup. The AC Milan midfielder
says he does not understand why several bondscoaches
have closed the door on him. "It's irritating that
my track record doesn't earn me spot automatically."
Seedorf never stopped being available
for the team. "The door is still ajar as far as
I am concerned. But it's often closed from the other
side. Why? That's a good question. I can't answer that."
Whether he is picked for the team
or not, Seedorf will go to South Africa this summer.
The former player of Ajax, Sampdoria, Real Madrid and
Inter loves to visit the country of his idol Nelson
Mandela. "The question is will it be on or off
the pitch."
Seedorf would prefer to be on
the pitch. "It would be a fantastic surprise when
Van Marwijk would call me. But in fact too much time
has passed. But who knows."
