| No World cup for Arjen Robben? |
Dutch daily De Telegraaf are saying
that Arjen Robben will almost certainly miss the entire
World Cup in South Africa because of the injury he sustained
this afternoon.
The newspaper is saying that Robben
told the medical staff of the Dutch national team that
he "heard something tear".
It would take six weeks and possibly
surgery for a torn hamstring to heal.
Robben will undergo a scan and
an echo in hospital tomorrow to determine the seriousness
of the injury. If his hamstring is only strained he
could be back in action in two weeks time.
Robben did not fly to South Africa
with the rest of the squad on Saturday evening. If the
injury is not as bad as feared he will join the team
later. Holland manager Bert van Marwijk said this afternoon
he will keep the forward with the squad if he will be
fit for the second round of the tournament..
