Holland have suffered a number of humbling
defeats against England, although most date back to
the pre World War II era (12-2, 9-1, 1-8) when England
were world class and Holland still a developing footballing
country. The goal difference is therefore slightly flattering
for England. In the last three decades the scale is
a bit more balanced, although across the Northsea they'll
gladly remind the Dutch of the 4-1 defeat during Euro
96.
