Ooijer: "My future is unclear"

Dutch international Andre Ooijer
says his future is still unclear with his contract at
Blackburn set to expire at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old has not been a regular fixture in the
heart of the defence this season with manager Paul Ince
preferring to pair Ryan Nelson and Christopher Samba.
The Dutchman's plight has not been helped by a swollen
knee which has prevented him from catching Ince's eye
in recent times.
Ooijer is refusing to rule out a move back to the Netherlands
with a number of Eredivisie sides closely monitoring
his situation.
Contract negotiations could begin this month with the
defender looking for a two-year extension to his existing
deal at Ewood Park.
“I don’t know what is going to happen, so
who can say,” Ooijer said in the Lancashire Telegraph.
“Competition is all over the pitch and that is
a good thing for the team. You always enjoy the game
if you are playing though, of course that is always
good.”
