Alex Ferguson Hails Edwin Van der Sar
Friday 11 July 2008
Manchester United boss Sir Alex
Ferguson is all praise for goalkeeper Edwin Van der
Sar, who retired from international football after representing
Holland at the recently concluded Euro 2008.
The Scottish tactician claimed
that the 38-year-old had done wonderfully well for both,
his country as well as his club.
The Scot said: "Edwin has
looked after himself, thats the key to it."
"Hes won the European
Cup twice and lost another final, so hes had three
finals and a fantastic career. "
"He has had over 130 caps
for his country, he doesnt need to trumpet his
achievements. He is a modest lad and down to earth."
Ferguson said that Van der Sar
is currently on a break and will joining the Red Devils
soon to help them to achieve much more then they did
last season.
"Hell get a good break
now, Ive told him to have as much holiday as he
wants because at his age he knows whats best for
him. "
"Hell be back and hopefully
he has another great season for us."
