Baggies go double Dutch
Monday 01 September 2008
West Bromwich Albion have secured
the services of two defenders from Hollands Eredivisie
in a matter of hours with the news that Ryan Donk will
be joining Jonas Olsson in moving to The Hawthorns.
Olsson was confirmed as a Baggies player on Sunday
evening after the promoted side paid £800,000
to prise him from NEC Nijmegen, and now Donk, 22, has
followed suit by joining the Swede at Tony Mowbrays
side.
The Holland Under-21 international joins West Brom
on a season-long loan deal, according to a statement
on AZ Alkmaars official website.
The capture of the Amsterdam native means Donk is now
the third defensive arrival from Holland over the summer,
with Heerenveens Gianni Zuiverloon also joining
earlier in the month.
The former RKC Wallwijk man becomes Mowbrays
11th capture of a busy summer following the clubs
success in winning The Championship last season.
