In an incredible outburst former
Barcelona player Hristo Stoichkov has come out today
and lambasted his ex-manager Louis Van Gaal, describing
him as a ridiculous fool....
Barcelona may well have picked
up their first win of the season in emphatic style on
Sunday night, but Hristo Stoichkov preferred to use
an interview today to bombard his former manager Louis
Van Gaal with insults rather than talk about the victory.
The Bulgarian international played
under Van Gaal during his less successfull second spell
at Barcelona and he seemingly has nothing but contempt
for the current AZ manager.
"He is a total fool, he's
ridiculous, he has a large head and small brain,"
he began.
"He began to play me in midfield
when all my life I was a forward."
"I did not learn anything
from him and if the day ever came when he arrived at
Barcelona I would stop being a member," he raged.
After his stinging words the former
Celta Vigo manager did calm down and find time to talk
about other things Barcelona, including how he dreams
of managing the club one day.
"To coach Barcelona one day
would be a dream," he said, "They are the
largest team in the world and always have to be the
best."
"This season will be good
for them because although Real Madrid have kept the
skeleton of their team they have not reinforced much,"
he explained.
During his first spell with the
Catalan side Stoichkov made over 150 appearances and
was one of the most popular players in Johan Cruyff's
'Dream Team' which won La Liga four years in a row from
1991 to 1994.
