Robben not on Madrid squad

Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben
has been surprisingly left out of Bernd Schuster’s
18-man squad to face Atlético in El Derbi on
Saturday.
The Dutch forward had looked set
to make a return from a muscular injury to play some
part in this weekend’s Madrid derbi. But after
yesterday’s crucial training session, coach Bernd
Schuster has decided to omit him from the final squad
list.
The German trainer, along with
the club’s medical team, decided not to risk the
injury-prone Oranje international and to allow him more
time to regain full fitness in order to avoid any immediate
relapse in the near future.
Schuster has also left behind Jordi
Codina and Christoph Metzelder for technical reasons,
while Diarrà, Guti and Miguel Torres are all
overlooked due to injuries.
Other Ducthmen Ruud Van Nistelrooy,
Rafael Van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder and Royston Drenthe
will be on the team sheet.
